ABOUT
Hi, I’m Caryn Carver.
I’m a folk herbalist who’s passionate about empowering others to live in their truest form, fully connected, vibrant, and as a divine expression of nature.
I began studying herbalism in 2019 after feeling a gentle tug from the plant world. I wasn’t sure where this newfound interest came from, but after a 2014 trip to the Ecuadorian Amazon, it felt like something awakened in me. I spent three days wading through muddy trails and tangled vines, encountering monkeys wildly swinging from tree to tree, long-beaked toucans flying side by side, and brightly colored tree frogs who would later cackle like witches in the night. Between searching for caiman and tasting lemon-flavored ants, our small group would stop in the middle of the forest and learn about the medicinal properties of different plant species. I was moved by the beauty and abundance of it all.

I went on to study Western herbal medicine, and then later joined the School of the Sacred Wild under the mentorship of Marysia Miernowska. It’s here where I learned how to connect with the spirits of the plants, how to reattune to the cycles of nature, and how to reclaim the fullness of myself.
After spending two decades working for socially conscious organizations, trying to “solve” the world’s problems, I realized that even our most well-intended solutions are still rooted in capitalism, colonialism, and white saviorism. And that the path to true wellbeing, for ourselves, our communities, and Mother Earth, is one that focuses on slowing down, listening to the land, and relearning how to live in reciprocity with one another.
The separation between humans and Earth is a relatively modern construct, and many of us are suffering from this severed relationship without even realizing it. When we see ourselves as separate from nature, we forget our innate sense of belonging. We forget the essence of who we are.
When we reweave ourselves into the web of the universe, we remember our inner wisdom and intuition. We remember our creativity and compassion. And we remember our individual power and sovereignty.
Through plant spirit communion, storytelling, journaling, art, and hands on medicine-making, I hope to empower you to begin the beautiful dance of tending to yourself by tending to the Earth, and vice versa. I hope you remember what it feels like to nourish and be nourished, to hold and to be held, to love and to be loved.
